Panda Cookies

Another junk interesting food my sister bought from Brunei. This is available in Malaysia too but the price in Brunei is cheaper. The kids fondly call it 小熊饼干(Panda Cookies). The panda prints on the cookies are so cute. It reminds me of the animal cookies I had when I was a child. We will eat it like starting from the hands, feet, tail, body and finally left with one head!

CNY Gathering

Most family members have arrived for CNY. When we all get together, everyone wants to talk. So, when you want to talk and I also want to talk, how can anyone hear anyone? Ok, let me tell you this. The strategy is: Whoever can talk the loudest get the message across. Hmmm... it sounds like pasar at home.

Hang in There!

My sister went to Brunei and bought this sour candy. The packaging looks kind of interesting. Sit tight before you pop the candy in your mouth! Muahahahaha! (No, I didn't try it!)

Home Sweet Home

It is great to be home. The crowd is building up. More family members will be arriving before New Year Eve dinner. Food has been great! This is the time of the year I am all ready to put on weight. ;-)

7 hours of shopping

I am so worn out after 7 hours of walking! Haven't done such a marathon shopping in years! My feet ... gotta go heal them first.

Note to self: Do not do last minute shopping again!

New Challenge

Last week, boss told me that BIG boss has appointed me to take my team members and to set up a Project Department for business process re-engineering.

Yesterday, BIG boss met up with me and officially announced this to me and told me the reason for the sudden decision to have this New Department and why me.

Today, I announced this to my team members who will join me in this new department.

Next Monday, I will tell the rest of my team members that I will no longer be their boss.

I am going to miss the time we jokingly threaten to throw each other out from 10th floor if someone fail the deadline.
I am going to miss the time they all showed up at my door (fun)fighting to try to jump queue and see me.
They are too many things that I am going to miss about. But most importantly, I will miss how they treat me as a friend.

Sign at Special Ed Center

I came across a sign at a special education center and took the following picture. Clearly the multiligual translation was inconsistent. Reading further down on the types of condition they cater to, I have only sighs!

Err...Syndrome down? Mental Retarden? How about Mental Disorder?
Deaf/Dumb? Try using Speech Disorder.
Slow learner? Learning Disability is a more appropriate term.
And what is Austitic?

Winter Clothes

Yesterday, I was meeting up a friend who came visiting from foreign land. While accompanying her to shop at KLCC, we had this conversation:

She: Why did I see a lot of shops selling Autumn and Winter clothings?
Me: Office is cold.
She: Huh ...
Me: People travel overseas a lot.
She: Huh ...
Me: People go Genting Highlang a lot.
She: Wah! That kind of weather needs such sweater and jacket?
Me: Hmmm... Let me think. I know! The shop is targetting at foreign tourists like you, to buy these clothes and bring back for your winter.
She: ...

New Year Steamboat Dinner

We were having a steamboat dinner last night at my sister's house. We had the Tom Yam flavor soup and lots of other things. Good thing the weather was cooling and we didn't have to sweat our way through the dinner. ;-)

Happy New Year 2006

I woke up this morning and wish myself Happy New Year. Was at my sister place last night watching TV at home then had a small gathering at the park across the street. We had a photo session at the park and the photos came out funny - background was too dark.

Oh! my first ever attempt to shoot firework turned out to be something else. Some said Teddy Bear, Some said Mickey Mouse. I said Solar Explosion.
