Bad Customer Service Expereicne

I have been calling up Astro to get them to reconnect the service for my Dad's subscription that was interrupted because of stupid billing error. I must have dialed (or use the redial button) for some 300+ time. No kidding!

The Customer HOTline must have been melted. It gave me busy signal or worst, drop my call! At max, I waited for 40 minutes!

So, I went to the website and looked for other available number in the company and started calling them one by one. Finally, I made a call to the "Advertise on Astro" number, voila! Someone picked up after my few minutes waiting. My call finally got to a Customer Service Representative. Service is now back to normal.

Project Launch

It is unusually hectic in the office on this last working day of the year. Everyone was making final preparation to set the launch of the project on New Year Day. I am blessed to have a wonderful team to work with, especially the cool programmer guy and the forever responsive consultant that never say no. Everyone in the project is required to be on stand by mode - with handphone strap to the neck. *hehe*
I am keeping my fingers cross, praying and hoping that nothing major happen.

Rating - Part 1

Busy. Busy. Busy.
I have a list of name in my hand to assign grades that determines the final score. Yup! It is that time of the year to tell who is the good kid that deserves rewards and bad kid that deserves punishment.
[P.S. Santa has nothing to do with this. He has gone back to Northpole]

Dress Down Week

Christmas Holiday is over. Gotta head back to work tomorrow. The company I work for always allows the "dress down" week before the New Year. That means forget about office attire and dress casually.

It is kind of cool that we can put on Jeans and Tees to go to work. But some people might have taken the "dress down" too far: mini skirt, spaghetti tee, ...
While I enjoy the fashion variety in the office, I don't think it is appropriate though. I mean after all, this is a office building with hundreds of people working here and customers walking in and out. Call me old fashion if you want to. ;/

Party 02

December 23, 2006

It was Friday, I got off work early. The party began after dinner.

On our way, I spotted Santa on Harley. Err.... but not on the road.
It is the deco at Hard Rock Cafe.

We went to Poppy Garden. It is a nice place if it wasn't too crowded on that nght. We hang out at the bar and the traffic was heavy.

Our second stop, Thai Club.

Ann and Bill

My cousin, David and his girlfriend Jane.

Finally, he (the staff at Thai Club) found the "missing red star" deco and ready to hang it back to where it belongs. Muahahahaha....!!!!!

Visit YellowAnt to see more photos and how the star deco was put to good use.

CNY Return Air Ticket

I have been trying to get the free tickets that AA offerred. On that morning when the promotion started, I was sitting anxiously in front of my computer and hitting the "search" and "back" button for the few browser windows I opened up for different destination. Of all the destinations, I mostly want to get the return ticket for my Chinese New Year trip. Argghhhh...... no free ticket for the date I want. Disspointed but still hopeful that, tomorrow I can see free ticket. *wishful thinking*.

On the next day, duh!!! It is the same thing. And with AA server badly congested for the whole day, I finally bought a "priced" ticket - $205.99(plus tax). I know if I delay again, the price for this ticket will go up. Anyway, I will be on two weeks CNY holiday. Yeah!!!

New Toy

I got myself a new toy. No no no, I am not talking about a pricey I-Pod or a flashy new handphone. It is just a tiny little wooden cat that has the "flex" arms and legs. I like it so much that I brought it to the office and my colleague looked at me like "what a 3 years old"! *Muahahaha*

Here is what I do with the toy:

Am thinking if I should go back and get other animals like dog, bear, etc.
By the way, this evolved cat has no tail. ;-)

Ka-Ching

It was a last minute decision that we all decided to go up the hill to chill last night. The chill was an excuse, we got out from the car park and headed staight to the "Ka-Ching" machine! Err.. actually, the machine these days don't make "Ka-Ching" sound anymore. What you hear is all the digitalized sound like "di-di-du-du".

"Understanding your consumer" is what the marketing people always preach. And so I see how this is applied in the design in the "Ka-Ching" place. Just when we got out from the multi level carpark, we got in the lift that took us directly to the entrance! I guess the Business Strategy people might want to consider putting some machine at the lift lobby, in the lift, in the toilets for those hardcore players.

This trip reminds me of the time I spent in Las Vegas doing my summer school many years ago. Wherever you go, you see the machine. At the airport waiting lounge or when you stop by 7/11 for bread and milk, you can feed your coins too. Good Lord they don't have this on campus!

Curse of busy office

It was a hectic Friday, so much so that I got the headache from the office rush. The headache was gone the moment I stepped out from the office. Arrgghhhh ... the curse of busy office. It is called Stress, you silly!!*kekeke*

I must have looked funny in the office today. Making countless phone calls (sweet talk some, harsh talk some)and running up and down to make sure the project is completed. Good things everyone corporated. (They don't have much of a choice because I told them to do it or die!, just kidding!) But the IT guy told me, it will only be 100% completed if I don't get phone call from him at 11pm tonight. Well, it is now passed midnight, no phone call and I take it as a 100%.

Long Absent

Today is December 1, 2005. Another 30 days toward 2006. The past few months have been depressing, especially last month. I guess that explains my long absent from blogging.

Good thing that the thought of I will be going home soon soothe me. Yes, Chinese New Year is about 2 months from now! I finally got my ticket with the recent AA promotional price. And guess what, I bought only one way ticket! When I told my boss I will be gone for about 2 weeks during CNY with my one way ticket, boss looked at me and asked "You sure you have no problem coming back later?" *hehe*
